Caddie Day and Appreciation Week information has been moved down this page if you need to review it. For this weekend, the overflow lot has been closed. To end the season we will park in our lot, completely filling it out to the IT building at the water tower. If the lot is completely filled you can then park in the employee lot next to the member range temporarily until the lottery is over and then we will move cars back to empty spots in our lot. Please do not park in the employee lot until our lot is completely filled.
Standbys for Sunday will carry over to the fall but only for Opening Day. If you are not in the Opening Day lottery for Fall 2024, your summer carryover standby will be considered burned unless you are on a request in which case it will carry over to your next available lottery.
SUNDAY 5/19/24

Birdie of the Day:
Avoiding Dehydration There is some controversy as to the best beverage for fluid replacement. Water is generally the fluid of choice because it moves rapidly through the stomach. Carbohydrate-electrolyte beverages containing up to 6% carbohydrate have been shown to empty from the stomach at rates similar to water during rest andexercise. What kind of fluid consumption is recommended before and during exercise? They also suggest that 500 ml (17 oz.) of fluid be consumed two hours before exercise. During exercise, try to drink approximately onecup of fluid every 20 minutes.
Using Club Up for Member Requests - read then watch the video
Later today, Friday, December 15th, I will send our our first member request information using the new app Club Up. As you all know we get the weekly sheet on Friday typically, and we post it for all to review. That will still remain true but we hope to add alerting you that a member is coming by using Club Up. To make this work, you have to understand that when we use the system, we are not exactly sure what time or days your member is going to be there for so all Club Up is doing is letting you know that we think you have a member coming on XYZ day. We will not be listing times as those could change so if you see 2AM on the loop, you know this is just a reminder to you that you have a member coming that day and you need to do more work by reviewing the weekly sheet or checking with us in the office to get more details. We hope this will help you better plan your week and your lottery picks and will help us avoid caddies picking bags that maybe should not have been picked due to member plans. Also, member plans are tentative and can always change so please understand this is just to give you another way to know what is going on.
So, how will it work? If you have a member coming on say WED next week, you will get a Club Up notification that will go into your Unclaimed Loops section (this is the first icon at the bottom of the app, a bag of clubs). When you open the unclaimed loop you will see the information about what member, what day and you will see 2am on the time. This should tell you that "Oh, my member is coming WED, I need to look at the Weekly sheet to see how many days or check with the office to see what is going on." When you accept the loop, the job will move to the claimed loop section, second icon to the right, the ball on a tee. You can go in and review it at any time. Let me stress, there is a cancel or decline button in red. You cannot cancel this loop at any time even though it is there. If you can't make it, you need to call us. If there is a time on that loop that is different than 2am, then we know more information and that is the time you need to report for the bag. So remember, 2am I need to get more info, any other time, I need to get more info but that is likely the time I need to get to work that day. We will continue to confirm you via text for a few weeks, but by spring I want to move to this to confirm all member requests. If you do not have Club up set up and running, let me know.
Appreciation Week Shopping Appreciation Week shopping will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd and Thursday May 23rd from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The procedure will be to park in Lot B2 off Berckman Road. Do not park in our normal lot, it is closed for the week. You can take the shuttles from parking to the Patron Corridor drop off and then walk to the caddie house to check in. You will need to wear golf appropriate attire which is a collared golf shirt and pants (no shorts). You will need to check in with Ray at the caddie house, then walk over to shop. The club has approved an additional $500 limit in place for this (over and above your regular 500 but you cannot add any leftover from the season). Do not go over $500 for your visit during Appreciation Week is what I am saying. If you do, your shopping privilege will be suspended for the following season and possibly longer. As always, shopping is for you and for gifts, you cannot resale anything you buy. After shopping you may ride the shuttle back to the lot B2 and depart. Do not loiter and complete your shopping in a timely manner.
Caddie Play Day - Tuesday, May 28th Caddie Play Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28th. If you are qualified, tee times on the Big Course begin at 7am. Those will be posted once the tee times are assigned. If you are not sure if you are qualified, call the office Sunday, May 19th between 10am and 1pm to find out. Tee time foursomes are due by 6pm Sunday, May 19th and these are done via a form that is sent out electronically. Remember, only one person in your group of four needs to put in the electronic foursome so make sure you know who in your group is doing it. If more than one comes in, you will go to the back of the bus in terms of what times you get. If you are not qualified, please speak to Ray about possibly coming for lunch and the par 3. We can typically let a few caddies join us at lunch time to eat, then go play the par 3 even if not qualified but you need to call Ray to request the possibility. I have to present my list to the club and they will want to know how much each of you worked before they will approve anyone. I won't jeopardize the privilege for everyone to try to get caddies playing that did not earn the privilege. I hope you understand. Play Day is never a guarantee and can always be revoked.
If you do not have a foursome or group, you still need to fill out the form and you will be added to groups that have room if you are qualified for a tee time and if we have room.
We wear golf appropriate attire for caddie day which is pants and a collared golf shirt. If you have a tee time, please do not arrive more than one hour before your tee time. If your tee time is 8:00am, you can arrive one hour ahead at 7:00am. You need to arrive with your group to coordinate golf carts as we are parking in Lot B2 and carts will be there. Do not take more carts than needed and if you don't pair up, we will not have enough carts for everyone and someone not have a cart. I will be watching for any groups that have more carts than needed and I will make you leave the course to take them back and skip holes if this happens. Enjoy the day.
